| 2 | 1599 | - 1599: Pastor Rauwerts holds a speech supporting the reformation. Ever since, the Dutch Reformed religion has been the dominant religion in the region.

| 3 | 1606 | - 1606: The Spanish try to recapture Bredevoort. They capture the town, but not the castle. The Dutch Republican troops reclaim the town.

| 4 | 1610 | - 1610: Willem ten Oistendarp from De Heurne, Dinxperlo and Berend Swenen from Barlo, Aalten fail the water test and are sentenced to death for witchcraft.
