      In de akte is een fout gemaakt: Als ouders van de bruid worden genoemd Stephanus Beernsen en Willemina Elshof. Dit zijn echter niet haar ouders, maar de ouders van de bruid voor haar; Theodora Beernsen. De ouders van Christina worden in de huwelijksbijlagen wel correct vermeld.

      Zij vertrokken naar Amerika op 21 augustus 1847 (van Eyck-Varsseveld)
      Arend Kolenbrander is een neef van Berend Kolenbrander. (Van Eyck Varsseveld 1940-22/12)

      De afgescheiden gemeente van Aalten hielden diensten bij L. Oberink en D.W. Navis, B. Groot Nibbelink op de boerderij Olderslag, en bij A. Colenbrander op Keurhorst.

      In 1839 woonden zij te Varsseveld in huis 456. Vader Gerrit Jan Colenbrander woonde bij het gezin in. Hij overleed in 1845. Interessant detail is de werkbode van de Colenbranders: Evert Jan Oberink! Het gezin is volgens het bevolkingsregister vertrokken naar America den 21 Aug. 1847.

      Als reden voor hun vertek noemt Arent: 'Wegens druk der belastingen'. Het doel van de reis is Wisconsin. Hij behoort tot de welgestelden.

    Passengers on the Phoenix.
    On November 21, 1847, the propeller Phoenix perished on Lake Michigan, a couple of miles off the shore from Sheboygan. About 250 people died and only 43 people survived. Most of the passengers were Dutch immigrants.

      en Christina Gesink, 26 jr., zonder beroep, geboen en woonachtig onder Varsseveld gemeente Wisch, meerderjarige dochter van wijlen de Ehelieden Stephanus Beernsen en Willemina Elshof, ter andere zijde;
