      Harmanus Piek vertrekt tussen 1851 en 1860 vanuit Winterswijk, dorp 413, naar de Verenigde Staten, samen met zijn vrouw en dochter Johanna Fredrika.

      In 1860 wonen ze in Clymer, NY. Hij bezit dan $750 aan onroerend goed en $400 aan overige bezittingen. Haar moeder woont bij hen in.
