    • Zij waren nog ongetrouwd toen ze emigreerden, maar reisden wel samen. Ze kwamen op 26 oktober 1847 aan in New York nadat ze de overtocht hadden gemaakt met het schip de France. Vervolgens kwamen ze samen op de Phoenix terecht. Dat schip verging, maar beiden overleefden de ramp.

    Passengers on the Phoenix.
    On November 21, 1847, the propeller Phoenix perished on Lake Michigan, a couple of miles off the shore from Sheboygan. About 250 people died and only 43 people survived. Most of the passengers were Dutch immigrants.
